Ligeia
Verden Fell (Vincent Price) may have buried his beloved wife Ligea (Elizabeth Shepherd) but what seems to be her pet cat is still hanging around.
The cat seems very possessive over Verden's belongings even though he's already thrown a cabbage at her.
After getting attacked by the cat several times, the lovely Lady Rowena (also played by Elizabeth Shepherd) is still silly enough to follow her up the stairs of the bell tower. It's pretty obvious even without the final revealing scene that this female black cat is possessed by the spirit of Ligeia. Of course, after quite a fight with Verden Fell, this movie doesn't end at all well for anybody.
