Muffin
Muffin gives Rachel (Pamela Roylance) a real "cat in the closet" jump scare.
Even though it's what most people think of as a cat scare, there are actually very few other examples in horror movies.
The Bates sisters, Val (Robin Stille) and Courtney (Jennifer Meyers), also have a cat of their own who appears to be enjoying a bowl of milk. Not good since cats are mostly lactose intolerant.
After checking on an overturned trash can, the girls return to their house with their cat following close behind. It must be love.
Although very similarly marked, this is not the same cat from "Friday the 13th Part 2" (1981). The homage to previous slasher films is a lot more obvious than just borrowing a lookalike cat.
This site is awesome. And here I thought Lazer Cats were cool. But no, Horror Cats are even cooler!
