The X-Files: Teso Dos Bichos (1996)

When FBI agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) investigate a series of deaths that occur immediately after an Ecuadorian burial urn containing an Amaru (a female shaman) is brought to Boston, suspicion immediately falls on a jaguar spirit.

What they don't realise is that the culprits are a multitude of ferocious (and cute) cats who lurk in the steam tunnels beneath the museum.

In an amusing scene, Scully gets attacked by an obviously fake cat with blood on its mouth while other real ones pour out of holes in the walls. Gillian Anderson revealed to the producers that she was severely allergic to cats.

Even more cats lie in wait below, but none of them get the chance to do anything. Apparently, they wouldn't attack on command and several scripted scenes were abandoned. Cats, eh?

If it wasn't for the metal grill, this tabby looks like would love to join in the fun.

A black cat re-enacts a scene out of "The Shining", but before he can get to them, Mulder and Scully escape.

Finally, there's another shot of the stuffed jaguar in the museum just so you know that this was supposed to be a supernatural event.

"Teso Dos Bichos" was strongly disliked by the cast and crew of "The X-Files" and went through several rewrites. The episode also received negative reviews from critics.
