Kuroneko (1968)
In a scene which must surely have inspired Selina Kyle's transformation into Catwoman in Tim Burton's "Batman Returns" (1992), a black cat (which confusingly appears to be two cats due to the editing) licks the dying bodies of Yone and Shige after they have been robbed, raped, beaten unconscious and semi-cremated. The women then return as vampiric spirits to exact revenge on the Samurai warriors who wronged them.
Stock footage of a black cat is shown just before every vampire attack hence the title of the movie which means "Black Cat" in English. If only someone could explain why the spirits of the girls have no eyebrows except fake ones half-way up their foreheads as easily.
