Black Cat (2004)

Pluto

Yet another version of Edgar Allan Poe's story but not a very good one. Not only is Serge Rodnunsky's plot confusing but the low-budget doesn't help much either. At least the name of the black cat stayed the same.

Like many black cats, Pluto has a lot of brown fur on him too.

Masters of Horror: The Black Cat (2006)

Pluto

This new version of "The Black Cat", set in 1840's Philadelphia, has the writer Edgar Allan Poe (Jeffrey Combs), struggling with alcoholism, writers block, as well as being out of ideas, short on cash, and tormented by his wife's black cat that will either destroy his life or inspire him to write one of his most famous stories.

Obviously coupling director Stuart "Re-Animator" Gordon with Jeffrey Combs leads to much horrific cruelty inflicted on Pluto. It turns out to all be a dream though and Pluto is fully intact at the end.
